Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Part Time

In collaboration with the physician and according to community standards of care, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for diagnosing, treating and coordinating medical services to the inmates of the Kenosha County Jail and Detention Center.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree and current Advanced Practice Nurse license for Wisconsin

  • Prescriptive authority with valid and current DEA and CDS

  • Minimum one year experience providing direct patient care

  • Experience in correctional setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient evaluation as assigned

  • Prescribe and monitor patient medications

  • Write orders for medication, treatment, diagnostic tests within licensure guidelines

  • Together with health care team, provide education to individual patients regarding medical care

  • Provide thorough documentation of patient evaluation and care according to policy and regulation

  • Participate in necessary on-call coverage

  • Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge regarding correctional health care and community standards of practice

  • Other duties as assigned
